Pandora de Balthazar is a full custom company. We bring the past to life, reinventing treasured works of art into every day luxuries for our clients. By enhancing original textiles in new and exciting ways, we are preserving a culture and history, thoughtfully recycled for today’s busy and active lifestyles. We have a particular emphasis on clean living, using antique textiles that are machine washable or can be steam cleaned to avoid allergy issues. These are organically made fabrics that breathe, reduce dust and mold possibilities, and which are usable, daily, for families…holding up under children, suitcases, cleats, and dogs!
It’s our signature to think out of the box, helping customers to see the options for using linens in unique and different ways. Just because a textile started out as a tablecloth for example, doesn’t mean it can’t become a beautiful canopy. We have even repurposed a woman’s heirloom wedding dress into a tablecloth for the cake table at her niece’s wedding!
In addition, we source antique hand loomed linen and process it for both our in-house projects and for designers. This is a laborious process. It must be soaked for days, then washed, ironed and brushed until it becomes incredibly soft, a beautiful versatile linen to work with…yet indestructible, and ready for a new life as bedcovers, bedskirts, monogrammed pillow shams, draperies, slipcovers, and more. Our specialty is the additional embroidery, appliqué, or overlay of lace, and other additional details that make for an original creation.
Our categories of ‘customizing’ are endless. From simple pillow slips or shams to custom sewn deep pocket sheets of Italian cotton in a choice of 180 colors, to fine tablecloths, lace window treatments, or beautifully created draperies and Roman shades, each design is created specially for it’s new owner.
